Is Innovation no Longer Driving Growth?

In the Economist:  A pessimistic view that is challenged.  With some useful statistics along the way.   " ... Has the world run out of ideas? ... Some economists argue the colossal gains of the past two centuries were driven by a single burst of technological advances -- and that the momentum of that surge is now fading, leaving the planet in the grips of a "great stagnation." That's probably too pessimistic, argues The Economist, although it's true many advanced economies are too set in their ways to adapt to truly revolutionary innovations.... "
